Departure Car - Art Exhibits
Juxtaposing my work with the elegant studio photography of
automotive master, Michael Furman, had been a project in the works
for a few years, when the Winfield Gallery in Carmel decided to
have the premiere exhibition of DEPARTURE CAR, coinciding with
Monterey Car Week. Michael has photographed so many important,
vintage, and racing cars around the world, including museum and
significant private collections, resulting in dozens of beautiful books.
Taking Michael’s art in a new direction by contrasting it with my
own, as we looked at some of our favorite cars, like the Ferrari 312T
Formula One car that Niki Lauda drove, and the Porsche 911 RSR
Turbo Le Mans car, along with a number of others, opens art and
car lovers eyes to new ways of seeing, thinking, and discussing their
favorite topics. With so many great cars in Michael’s portfolios, I have
a lot to choose from as I shoot new subjects for our next exhibits.
