Stand Out From The Crowd

Chip Ganassi Racing approached us to design the image of their new Indy Car team. They were fielding a second team under
the South American Hollywood cigarettes brand. Exciting as it was for me, the bonus round was that they had signed a
former Formula One driver and protégé of Ayrton Senna. I was going to get to design the cars, uniforms, team equipment,
merchandise – and hang out with Mauricio Guggelmin and others tied to the new team. This project launched a new effort
by DWV to do more racing team design work.

My experience with yacht racing made a perfect complement to motorsports business. Designing racing yachts would give me
an even bigger "canvas" to play with. Our first customer gave us free reign to design their Mumm 36 boat and team, which
led to an exciting program and fun times going down to Key West Race Week to install the team livery and gear and shoot
photos of the whole thing. – DW
