Taking Great Sound To Those Truly In Need

Working in the audio industry and exposing our Aphex sound processing technology to a variety of manufacturers was always about
promoting the idea of better sound, more defined music, improved speech intelligibility and reduce listening fatigue. I felt like an
evangelist, constantly bugging people to try our iPhone app demo, and watching their faces light up when they realized how much
they had been missing. In discussing our tech and brainstorming the potential of its use, we realized that a great application would
be for hearing problems. We ended up designing a device that would help the many people with hearing challenges.

The “Quattro” we created for Clearsounds utilized neck-loop technology, Bluetooth connectivity and a combination of features,
including a microphone that was detachable, allowing the user to place it closer to a dinner guest, meeting participant, spouse, etc.

It was exciting to bring our technology and our product design to the assistive listening market. A bonus was winning one of the
Consumer Electronics highest awards upon its release. – DW
