Just Do The Job!
Nike was one of the first global brands to contact me about doing some consulting. Flying across the country, going into the Nike
campus, and being handed the biggest, thickest NDA (non-disclosure agreement) I’d ever seen, I wondered what they expected
of me. After a tour of the R&D department, we got down to business, with a major brainstorming session. It was a memorable
moment that resulted in some advanced foot-bed technology developments. What was even more memorable was seeing all the
product testing and prototyping capabilities they had. One room was dedicated to people sitting at work tables sanding shoe soles
and tread patterns. I’m sure all those sanders were thankful for the advent of computer-aided printed parts! – DW
