Presenting the Ferrari Art.Engine ®

The Art.Engine took on a life of its own. We had to set up a shop dedicated top machining and building this extreme piece of audio
equipment. Now, I’m no audiophile, and I don’t side with most audiophiles, as they seem too focused on picking apart sound rather
than enjoying the music. Regardless, all of our energy was geared to elevating audio system design; the Art.Engine took speaker
building to a new level. The face of each Art.Engine took 18 hours to machine from two solid blocks of aluminum. The internal
assemblies and wire guide systems made the insides as much a work of art as the outside. The excitement and press coverage were
endless, with magazines around the globe printing articles on the Art.Engine, DWV and Ferrari. One Japanese magazine even
sent a crew over to interview me and shoot photos. They asked me to get a Ferrari GT car for the shoot so I arranged that for the
day they arrived. Naturally, being Park City, it snowed even though it was late Spring. We had to adapt and the shoot ended up
great though we had to wrap the Art.Engine in plastic and the photographer, who’d flown from Japan, had to lie on the wet, cold
ground while assistants held umbrellas. – DW
